Abbie’s Grief Journey

Abbie appeared on Comfy Chaos the podcast where she shared her journey with grief and what has helped her along the way. This page is to share it all visually ♥︎

  • Allow yourself to grieve

There’s no right or wrong way to grieve. Let yourself feel whatever comes—sadness, anger, numbness, even moments of peace.

Avoid pressuring yourself to "move on" too quickly; healing takes time.

  • Establish New Routines

Loss often disrupts daily life. Creating new routines can help bring stability and a sense of control.

Small changes, like a morning walk, journaling, or setting aside time for reflection, can help.

  • Stay Connected

Lean on friends, family, or support groups—even if it’s just for a small check-in.

Talking about your loved one can be healing. Share memories, look at pictures, or celebrate their life in meaningful ways.

  • Take Care of Yourself

Grief is exhausting. Ensure you’re eating, sleeping, and engaging in activities that nurture your well-being.

Gentle exercise, meditation, or therapy can help process emotions.

  • Honour Their Memory

Find a way to keep them part of your life, whether through traditions, charity work in their honour, or a personal tribute.

Writing a letter to them or keeping a journal can help express lingering thoughts and emotions.

  • Give Yourself Grace

Some days will be harder than others. Grief doesn’t have an expiration date.

It’s okay to feel joy again—it doesn't mean you're forgetting them.
